Tabbies.
posted in Cat Facts |The familiar tabby cat is reputed to have acquired its name from Attabiah, a part of old Baghdad where a black and white silk with a watered pattern effect was manufactured. This silk was known in England as ‘tabbi-silk’ and due to the similarity of the silk to the cats’ markings, these cats became known as tabbies.
