The heaviest recorded cat was an Australian cat called Himmy. The tabby tom Himmy weighed in at 21.3kg (46.9lb) when he died of respiratory failure, on March 12th 1986 aged 10 years.

Towser, who worked for the Famous Grouse distillery in Perthshire, Scotland, racked up an impressive 30,000 mice in his 24 years there, earning him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
Sadly he passed away, but will never be forgotten, as a statue of him has been erected in the grounds of the distillery.

The life expectancy of a feral cat is less than 10 years, domestic cats enjoy an expectancy of 10 to 15 years, but once in a while a remarkable feline reaches more than double this age. The oldest cat ever recorded was Creme Puff of Austin Texas. Born on August 3rd 1967, Creme Puff celebrated her 38th birthday in August 2005.

Leopards are graceful and powerful big cats closely related to lions, tigers, and jaguars. They live in sub-Saharan Africa, northeast Africa, Central Asia, India, and China. However, many of their populations are endangered, especially outside of Africa.

The only “big” cat found in the Americas, the Jaguar looks like the Leopard, but its coat is patterned with dark-centered rosettes, and it is more squat and powerfully built, with a large, broad head, and heavily muscled quarters. Along the midline of its back is a row of elongated spots that may merge to form a solid line.

A lion’s average life span is 13 years but a lion named “Nero” once lived to the ripe old age of 29 in a West German zoo.
Lions rarely eat an entire kill. Hyenas and vultures finish the rest.
Lionesses hunt in groups. While one group of lions drives the prey to a certain area, another group will wait to ambush the approaching animals.
Other lionesses in a pride will “baby-sit” a mother’s cubs while she goes off to hunt.
A lioness can run as fast as 35 mph for short distances and can leap more that 30 feet.
